Snow falls just as softly here as it did during our first kiss, / when it melted on your flushed cheeks in the mountain light of our childhood, says one of those metaphors on Mont Tremblant – the Trembling Mount in Quebec. See, if we do not know French or if we do not know English or if we do not know Spanish or if we do not know any language at all, we will still understand the language of Mont Tremblant. There won’t be any communications gap. Remember our first kiss that knew no language as that barely needed one... Let it be summer or winter, fall or spring or whatsoever time of the year, we may always be there to enjoy life, to experience life, to explore what life really longed and belonged to! But we never planned to plant that first kiss, did we ever? Let’s not then plan too much en route for Mont Tremblant either! If we do not like to fly from Philadelphia, or from Dallas, or from Newark, or from Toronto, we need not. If we do not like to take the Auto route 15 North from Montreal and come to the Tremblant resort via Chemin Duplessis we need not come by car either. If we do not like to take the bus from Montreal or Montreal-Trudeau airport or even from Ottawa, we need not take that either. We will reach Mont Tremblant just as artlessly as we reached our first kiss. Come what may we shall come to Mont Tremblant – that small village in Quebec we would be reborn in if so were we not already. Known for the famous Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort, positioned in the Laurentian mountain range, Mont-Tremblant is hugged by lush boreal woodland and picturesque panorama, bedded at 875 meters (2871 feet). If we don’t fall to it at first sight, we must have already fallen for it. Well, if we have never seen it, it already existed in our essence, in our entity. Every hour the lonely chimes of the clock tower in the lower village recounts the history of Mont Tremblant. The mountains, lakes and forests provide a tranquil backdrop, especially in the more countrified northern side. Mont Tremblant pertains to the Laurentian mountain range. It has a south side vertical drop of 645 meters/ 2,116 feet. The ski resort includes 654 acres of skiable land with 465 acres of artificial snow coverage. It has a huge snow system powering 1,037 snow guns that produces snow from November to April. Mont Tremblant holds plenty of trails with its total trail length being 78.9 km/ 49 miles. The mountain is dedicated to shelter 27,230 skiers per hour thanks to its 14 express ski lifts. The trails cover 17% beginner, 33% intermediate and 50% expert level. This gorgeous mountain brings thousands of skiers hourly by their two gondolas, one cabriolet, five high-speed 4-passenger lifts, one 4-passenger chairlift and two 3-passenger chairlifts. If we are there in the summer, the resort on the southern side of the mountain is a delicious hors d’oeuvre for activities. As well as mountain activities there is cycle hire and an indoor pool, ‘Aqua Club de Source'. We may also try mini-golf or walk down to the shore of Lac Tremblant for aquatics. There awaits an ‘Activity Centre’ atop where we can book divers activities. In close proximity, Parc de Mont Tremblant is a major park listed in the Parcs Quebec network. It comprises camping, canoe-camping, well-kept hiking trails and canoe rental. For a feel-good spell we may go for the north side of the resort. It offers not only the best runs, but also a plentitude of complimentary parking. This side also turns a profit from catering and equipment rental. Nevertheless we may want to spend more and more time on the slopes. Better bathe our bones in a hot tub after beating the slopes all day. Spas and gym complexes are also there in the midst of the pedestrian village. Let’s not miss the azure al fresco whirlpool from the gondola. One-day passes to pool and gym for adults with a range of discounts and multi-day packages are on hand.
