Murrungulo Beach: The discovery of a new world It was February. The temperature used to be customary. I remember it was 10 am when Jorge called me, inviting me for a walk. I was in those boring days and traveling would be the best option to escape that loneliness, the fear that consumed me. Sometimes being alone reminds us of the worst things in our (emotional) past. Anyway, it is not about my past that I want to tell, but about a paradise hidden on earth. Jorge has been a friend since childhood and has always been fascinated by travel. I confess that he planted that will in me. It was noon when I went to meet Jorge at his house. He was wearing shorts and a red T-shirt. I remember asking you if you were preparing for Valentine's Day (February 14). "You know I'm not a date" - he replied, smiling. I know it was just a lie. He was fascinated by a friend of mine who had known him since childhood. After filling that small car glacier, we left Jorge's house towards the district of Massinga. He had already told me how beautiful Murrungulo beach was. But I confess that besides the expectation of going to the beach, what captivated me the most was the trip itself. Leaving the district of Maxixe, in the middle of that crowd of people running around, ladies with goods on their heads, I remember being fascinated by the breeze coming in through the car window. I was sitting opposite, in the passenger seat. "You look like a bro child" - said Jorge when he saw me happy and loose. It was no wonder, he hadn't traveled in a long time. During the trip, I met people and when we stopped to eat, I remember exchanging contact with a young man who aspired to travel to Maputo. He had finished high school and planned to enter the University. Sometimes what we gain in a trip is not getting to the destination, but enjoying the seconds, the wonders we discover during the trip itself. I could say that the destination of a trip is just a goal, but I would be lying, because when we arrived in Murrungulo I remember running out of the car towards the beach. Wow. That beach is beautiful. One of the wonders was to see whales and dolphins jumping in the sea, doing that beautiful and appreciable acrobatics. I never looked at nature as closely as I did that day. I was in love. Minutes later I felt my feet submerged in the cold, warm water. Before diving, my friend invited me to go up that mountain that is there in front of the beach. Since we were thirsty, Jorge suggested that instead of normal water, we should climb a coconut tree to drink coconut water. I felt like a climber that day. I climbed the coconut tree with some speed because I wanted to drink the water sitting in front of the sea, enjoying those dolphins and whales. The truth is that I learned to recognize that we need to look more at the details of life, because there are more things to be appreciated in nature.
