Ukraine. The Carpathians. It is a mountain’s massif on East of Central Europe, which has a form of horseshoe across nine countries. I adore mountains. Thus I want to write about them. I had a lot of connections with them, describe one. It was August 2019, scouting camp “Hoverlya.” I was a tourist guide for ten people. We have traveled for two weeks by mountains and passed 160 kilometers. I want to tell you about challenges with we had face to face, decisions to them. Also, of course, feelings of enjoying from typical spending time, sunsets, climbing to the steep slope and local radio, what we had in our group. Blackberry, sincere people, calm of nature, a dog from the village, which goes with us, not the first kilometer, magical sunsets with a majestic form of Ukrainian Carpathians. It was all admirable. What about injured legs from thirty kilometers of road, drunk boys from the village, which stick to girls, the threat of burns in the field kitchen. It is all waiting person who is want to be on nature—the funniest when a group of people at the top of the mountain meet thunderstorm. Mountain trip is incredible if people will be ready for all risks and have relevant skills. We went to the mountains, uphill was easy. Green grass, clean air, hot day, nature. We are going and discussing many questions, what connects us because we are from one organization - Plast - National Ukrainian Scouting Organization. I’m a member of Plast for more than six years. We caught a moment, and I helped a person in orientation, which was responsible for it (roles were changed every day by everyone in the group). Difficulties appeared beyond the mountains, namely at them, because the group separated into two parts - boys and girls. Between them was hostility, characters are incompatible. As a group leader, I tried to master this through different methods of grouping, playing, and talking with each other and together. Already in the middle of the camp it became more comfortable, the atmosphere in the company was free and fun, they friended with each other. After a day-off, we prepared the second part of the journey. The route was beautiful, but passed through large rocks was difficult due to the features of the Gorgany massive. Subsequent challenges were that the support needed, weaker girls could no longer carry a heavy backpack, and boys in my group gladly helped them, thereby strengthening the relationships within the group. Despite the group challenges, I had my personal one - I always had to be an example to them in every way. Sometimes it was challenging because I wanted to let go of the slack, but I realized that it would hurt group dynamics and my authority. I listened to their advice on my guidance while playing the band. So, the journey taught me, it will be even more used in firstly for myself, following its own rules and listening to others, putting the best for yourself, and at times while you do not notice, you can inspire someone with your example. The mountains are about challenges enveloped in the beauty of nature and incredible scenery.
