I grew up in a stead of poverty where I lack everything, I never had any traveling experience growing up until I became a delivery boy at the age of 24, where I had the opportunity to ride through the whole city of Accra on my delivery bike. It was one early morning at about 6:15am when I received a call from my boss that a client want me to pick up some books from a publisher to meet him up at the airport. on reaching the publisher office at around 7:45am he was not done with the books printing and asked me to wait. I had no choice but to wait. I called the client to inform him of what was going on at the published house. The books were ready at about 12noon. I packed the books into the trunk behind my motor bike and set off towards the airport. On reaching there, the client had left and his mobile phone was also off. As confused as I was, I called my boss to inform him of what had happened, my boss told me the client has left on the plane to Kumasi for his workshop as he was getting late and also couldn’t afford to loose his flight.(Kumasi is the capital town of Ashanti region and it a 1:45min by flight and 5hours drive by road). So confused and hurt for putting in effort and riding on top speed, leaving the house too early and yet it all ended fruitless, I stood there quiet getting ready to turn back to the office when my phone rung again, this time it was the client, he explained to me why he Left and ask where I was, I Glady told him I was at the airport. He then ask me “do you have a passport” I answer no sir, He asked again do you have any ID card on you and I said yes. He hung up and called back in some minutes time. He directed me to speak to a lady inside the airport, she was the front desk person for African world airline, on entering I read her name tag and she was Grace. I approached her and said Good morning grace she was astonished I mentioned her name but I told her I was sent by a client to her, she asked of my name and I called it out to her, she told me to hold on and went through her computer and this was the news she had for me. “Hello Mr. Ofosu, a flight has been booked for you to travel with the next plane to Kumasi, can I have your ID card. I shouted in my head good heavens, I went back called my boss and told him of the new he approve my departure so I packed my bike and went to board the plane. Oh my God I had the second seat to the window but on reaching the plane I spoke to the beautiful woman by the window to allow me exchange my seat with hers as I will love to seat by the window, she was excited about my confident and offered me her seat, I looked through the window and saw the huge wings of the plane and the crazy sound it made as it was setting off from the ground, puff in no time we were in the air. Still staring at the windows I noticed people and building becoming smaller and smaller until I could see the whole of the city in a flash. I was enjoying the sight and was so happy and fulfilled inside me. The beautiful thing was that I was not scare one bit, as I was enjoy every moment of the journey and soon I could see the sea and later the clouds only. I enjoyed the snack that was serve in the flight as I had not eaten since morning. It was a beautiful traveling experience and I look forward to traveling across the waters to other countries. I have fallen in love with sight seeing and till date, no experience is like my first day on the flight.
