Hurry up! The dance will begin! All of my friends call me to prepare the dance. I wear my traditional custom, its name is Sapei Sadaq, it is like a vest and wear the shorts, it name is Abed kaog. Yeah…I am a traditional dancer in my village. I live in Pampang village, there is in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan or the people usually say my city is Borneo. Today, I and my friend will show the traditional dance, the name is Kancet Pepatai dance, from Kenyah Tribe and it is my tribe. This dance shows to the might of dayak men during the war and it follows by traditional musikal instrumen, its name is Sape it is made from a wood, like a guitar but its bigger than it. All of eyes saw our performance, they are from domestic tourist, not only that, after we finished the dance, we continue with another dance, Kancet Punan Ledo, this dance to shows how the man fight over the woman. During the dance, my eyes always see a beautiful woman that watch our dance. She is smiling at me and take some photograph of our dance show. After we finished the dance show, its time to take a photo with all of the tourist, and I see you, beautiful woman! I try to close her, and she likes me very much, maybe because I wear a traditonal custom, and we shake hands “What is your name?”, “Shinta” “Beautiful name” “I am Nanjan” She is smiling at me and say thank you. I want to speak more with her, but my dance group call me, because there is a journalism want to interview our group dance. My eyes always see “Shinta”. After the interview, I run to her and say hallo again. I just want to know about her telepohone number.and I found that. Days to days, I hope, I meet her again, I believe I will meet her. True…every Sunday. I show my dance performance, I meet her again. I like it. Shinta is a javanese woman, she is a student of Mulawarman University, she always come to Pampang village to complete her thesis. And I as a source of her thesis, because the topic of her thesis is about the traditional dance in East Kalimantan. Every Sunday, Shinta always prepare some questions for me and always take a photograph of me and my family. Yeah my family is Kenyah tribe. We have some rule before the quest come here especilly come to our home. Shinta should report her self to tribal chief and my family like her very much, absolutely me. I believe, I fall in love to her, because she is friendly to everyone that met her. But…she loves me too or not. I don’t know. I just a dancer, and she is a candidate of bachelor. I and Shinta are different tribe, but that is not a problem I think. I try to close Shinta and talk about her more, her father, mother and all of about her family. I want to meet Shinta’s family, and I want to say that I love their daughter. Today, I bring my family to meet Shinta’s family. I show my performance as a traditional dancer with completely custom. They are very amazed to me and my family, I show Kancet Punan Ledo dance. My father talk to Shinta’s father that I want to married with her. My father said about our culture and the process of dayak tribe when they are married. I don’t know what Shinta’s family think about but they are reject our married culture. Yeah… I am a dayaknese, when we want to married we always do some ritual to ward off evil spirits and summon good spirits with blood of animals. My family just silent, all of us silent. I and Shinta see each other. Today I and Shinta be a good friend to share our culture to everywhere, we don’t want another tribe thinking a bad thing about some cultures especilly in Indonesia because my country has more than 300 tribes with a different culture. I am Nanjan, I proud be a Dayaknese and I love it.
