So this happened my last year of highschool, the opportunity to join a exchange program was offered. I usually need time to think but this time I spontaneously just said yes without thinking. So me and a few other students from different classes went to Palermo. Little did I know what an amazing experience this would be. I never thought this would be the kind of trip I would still remember so vividly. It still makes my chest feel warm even though 5 years have past. To move into a strangers home and meet her loving family, and all the other exchange-students was so amazing. To learn their culture, to get to know their way of living was such an incredible experience. While being there, there where other exchange students from Belgium as well. It was so educational and interesting, there we where, about 10 swedes, about 10 Belgiens and about 20 Italiens all making new friendships. We all have this connection now, these precious memories that we shared that no one other than us have.
