I love traveling and adventure and I jump at every offer available to me, little did I know this offer was a journey into the unknown. My traveling to the east was an "I would never shoot myself in the leg again" unforgettable experience. The fire of my excitement was kindled when I got to the town where I was scheduled to spend a year, in fact, I died seven times. I was welcomed by a battalion of sun flies that takes utmost delight in sucking the blood of strangers and hosting on the body of a visitor. Immediately, I knew I needed to talk to someone to find consolation and also ask goggle how to get rid of sun flies but alas! my battery was flat and there was no electricity supply to power my phone. I convinced myself that it was due to the power supply interruption and it would be restored in a few hours, so I thought until I met with another shock of my life that there haven't been any power supply in the locale for a good number of years. How am I supposed to survive? Was the song playing in my head. I became perturbed and I was already thinking of how to leave this jungle called a town to my humble abode. Life couldn't have been crueler to me, I muttered. For what is life without water supply, constant power supply, and other basic amenities needed for individual comfort. I resorted to asking one of the indigens how they feel about the whole disorder, they were surprised at my reasons for panic and from my observation, they have already gotten used to the saga and have mastered the craft of not complaining. I am not a quitter and I hate to quit, but how am I going to handle this dilemma, I kept on ruminating on my ordeal as I roll from one edge of the bed to the other. Sleep betrayed me, and I was literally burning due to uncensored heat, I was in a great mess. I packed my bag and left a million times in my mind, but my body was glued to the bed and I could not bring myself to carry out the well-arrayed thought in my mind. I struggled throughout the night until I drifted off towards the dawn of the day. I was awakened by the sonorous ballad of my intestines as they mourn one of their own, oh my gosh!! I have been without food for a whole day and my body system is now protesting. I knew at once that I need to appease these gods and do their bidding. I dragged my weak body out of bed and managed to put on a dress, I hurried to the street to find the ingredients of the concoction to appease these gods but I was welcomed by a dead street with no kiosk around. Not again, I screamed and hit my leg on a palm tree branch on the street. I went back home to inquire of my neighbor how to get food and he described a place to me. I hit the road with focus and I kept on moving, despite the fact that the place was far. I got there at sunset because I trekked and I was happy I would get food to eat, I saw foods but there was yet another barrier in front of me, called language. I didn't understand their language either do they understand mine. I had lost all hope until I met a man I would love to tag as my savior, he was the intermediary between us and he bought the food for me. He watched me as I devoured the food like a hungry lion, we became friends and he followed me everywhere I go. I learned about the culture in a few months and I traveled to several villages journaling as I go. Through his help, I found a home away from home and also learned the art of scriptwriting. It is been over a year now since I left and every part of me yearn to go back to that town again.
