So, when in India a person completes the class 12,it is a big occasion and like many others we also decided to celebrate and we decided to take a trip to the North-East. We knew it was beautiful but when we explored it we knew it would be one of our life-altering experience. We went to places people can't find on map and met people with such kind hearts who were ready to help and forced us to come to their houses. We discovered the Naga Culture and came to know about their tribes and went to see too difficult to pronounce- Mao, Zunebhoto, Tuensang,Zakhama. And we found the most unique and rarest bird whose feather is of too much value in Nagaland- A Hornbill. One of the rare birds of India it was a beautiful young bird which was friendly and allowed humans around it despite being badly hurt by humans. Due to it being the month of may we couldn't attend the world famous Hornbill festival and it is a regret I always carry with myself. Also their was a trek to the Dzoukou Valley- also considerd the valley of flowers of the North East and one of the most beautiful places on earth. But the most spiritual and life enriching moment was the visit to the Kohima War Cemetery, where the world famous saying is etched on a memeorial "When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today". This saying was a homage to all the people who have died saving our country and it was etched to remind the people of this sacrifice . The war cemetery is the reminder of the Battle of the tennis court and cherry tree where the Japanese were stopped by the British Indian Army and the quote is a homage to those lost their lives doing so. Also the North-East and especially Nagaland is famous for its market for clothes, where a person can buy good quality goods at a cheap price if he/she has good bargaining power. So, when I want to summarize the visit to this hidden gem of India, I would just say that this is a life altering experience where a person is captured by the beauty and purity of the state and the simple and friendly people who go out of the way to help a person. This trip made me experience a lot o emotions-happiness, anxiety, sad, tearful, etc. But one emotion that I have carried till now is thankfulness and greatfullness to the God and my family for this trip an making it a part of my life which I will never forget.
