If you never have been in Italy, probably pick up a car in Milan and go through free toll rural roads ( because highway in Italy is a toll ) to Venice is one of the best ideas! In Milan airport, I had got a car which is pretty cheap especially if you are more than 25 years old. Car ranting companies really don't believe young people). I went to Milan after and spend some time there visiting the main attractions, but the most interesting stuff was waiting forward! After I left Milan I passed a lot of small-town and villages on the way to Venice. It's really nice to stop in some of them, take a walk and spend time in a local cafe or pub to fill the true spirit of Italy. Us a bonus during all the way I could observe beautiful Alps mountains. And of course "la bella Venecia"!! The best time to visit Venice is late autumn or winter. Then there are not so many tourists. This is a pretty chilling and nice way to explore Italy a bit. It will take a few days and I totally recommend it to everybody. But my trip didn't finish after this. I drove my iron horse in the mountain directions to Florence and Piza and than to one of the beauties pales in the world Cinque Terre. Driving in the mountain is very hard but with a lot of amazing views. So traveling by car through Italian rural roads is a great possibility to explore another side of Italy. But this way also has some minuses. The first thing drivers in Italy are really crazy so be ready to learn some Italian expressions and for a lot of beep beep sounds. They're always a problem with parking in big touristic cites so it's better to search for cheaper parking beforehand or leave a car out of a city and go to the center by bus. Thanks for read this article. Enjoy traveling and explore new stuff. Good luck!
