Origin of her will be a writing/video documentary of women from different sexual backgrounds, religious affiliation, race, work. I want to speak to old as well as young women to understand how they identify themselves in any and every spectrum. I want to hear their survival stories and how they shaped who they are, I want to hear their narrative, their emotions, how they express it, how it leaves their exhausted bones from carrying it. Her Origin is about where women have been. I feel the title is befitting. I am very excited about female stories because they are better able to help me understand the person I am, they will help other women battling with self identification and acceptance. Her Origin goes far beyond cognitive distortment, how society has labeled women into different categories to say who is acceptable and who isn't, that teaches us to hate other women and to hate ourselves even more, which is counterproductive behavior. I need to capture as many women as I possibly can, to listen like nobody has and hopefully connect with them on another level, to make them relax and safe in what they feel without any sense of shame. I want to walk in their shoes for a while to realize that my pain, my struggles are valid too, that I can scream, I can love myself, I don't have to see myself as a victim and I don't have to see every man as a perpetrator. Her Origin is about Her.
