My mind takes me back to the exact moment when I entered Panama City, populated by avant-garde tall buildings that imbued me with a feeling of smallness and fascination. It is a city that breathes growth and youthfulness, where development gives its pronouncements, marked by security, the growing offer of services and the multiplicity of nationalities that we can find. It is here that we find the Panama Canal, designed with impressive engineering, a symbol of this growing internationalization and the commercial importance it represents in the world. It is a Latin city, where we can see and feel a history of warmth, colors and joy in the Casco Viejo, that historic center, Unesco heritage, with beautiful and colorful buildings, which invite to its nightlife full of bars, restaurants and rooftops that offer a magnificent view over the city lights and over the pacific. It is the Catedral Metropolitana, the Palacio de las Garzas, the church of San Francisco or the shops in colorful buildings selling Panama hats, which bring us back to this pulsating culture and history. Panamanians are a receptive, welcoming, friendly, modern people and a mirror of the laticinity that flows through their veins. Owners of warm identities, they are personified in, for example, the pilots of the canal tugboats, in the beautiful polleras or even in the indigenous people who form the valuable local communities of the country. The food is a reflex of influences of other cultures, giving it a richness in the flavour. El Trapiche is one of the many local restaurants in the city where you can taste a beautiful caramiñola, tamales or sancocho, alongside a fresh Panama beer or, if you like, the famous rum Abuelo, both national drinks. Panama is not only the modern development and growth of the city, but it is also the nature that manifests itself green and vigorous in the dense tropical forests or even in the islands bathed either by the Pacific or by the Caribbean Sea. The wonderful archipelago of San Blas, place of residence of the local Guna community, is a paradise where heat reigns, translucent waters, varied fauna and an indigenous people that welcomes us with open arms. It is also in playa Venao that we can find an appealing place for surfing and adventure, staying overnight in Selina that surrenders to a glorious bay. Do you want to camp and enjoy a more natural and virgin experience? The island Escudo de Veráguas is a hidden treasure and may be the ideal choice. If you prefer a trip where the forest or the mountain conditions prevail, the Valle de Antón is a good option, or even the Vulcan Barú, which rises in an impressive 3474 m, inviting you to the challenging adventure that is its climb. I can not fail to mention Bocas del Toro, one of the ex libris of the country and one that does not stay behind when it comes to the beauty of its islands and the wonderful experience that is staying overnight in a bungalow over the water or even enjoying the countless starfish resting on the ocean floor. Panama is this and much more. Few words describe the beauty of this country; immense is the feeling that my heart contains when I recall all the moments I spent in that country. It is certain that, apart from my experience, there is something that this nation has to offer to all those who venture into it - a beautiful and natural world with so much to discover.
