I’d finally decided I was going to take the leap of faith and go Thailand with my girlfriend and her family after months of dwelling about the money side of it. For me this was a big thing as I deal with anxiety day to day but I wanted to really challenge myself at the same time being around her family who I had barely met. As soon as I landed in Thailand I knew this place was meant for me, the beaches were real art form of paradise, the people were so welcoming, kind and caring they made me feel at home straight away. The weather was absolutely glorious, the sun was cracking the flags from 8am in the morning until 8pm in the night. There was tropical jungles, scuba diving, we even had our own personal scooter to get around on which was the best part of the holiday! The bike came everywhere with us. From the food markets to the outskirts of the city to the busy roads, EVERYWHERE. We was in Thailand over Christmas and new year and on new year I haven’t seen anything quite like what I seen that day/night. The beach was full of people from all over the world setting off lantins into the sky and when I say lantins I mean a lot of lantins and we also had the luxury of krabi’s very own fire work display from the locals I was in awe every moment of the holiday. One day there was a tropical storm and not even could that keep us in our hotel... we got on the bike and headed out onto the motorways for a park we wanted to visit with amazing views but as we got there the park was shut because of the weather and the danger so we had to travel all the way back but that’s were we stumbled across a treehouse cafe where you could get the most amazing orange smoothies from and also one of my favourite hot drinks.... A LATTE! We stayed one week in koh sumui which is its own island by Thailand then we went more into the city for another week when we visited Krabi. The views from both places were extraordinarily and words wouldn’t even do them justice. The food was also lovely as I tried food I’d never really think to try like octopus and certain fish that I’m not really a fan off but surprisingly Thailand was bringing out a side to me I’d not seen before. We also attended an half moon party which was lots of fun meeting random people and also some good house music which I love. My favourite part was simply lying on the beach with the sun kissing mine and my girlfriends skin without any worries in the world just happiness and pure joy of the present moment, the water was crystal clear and we even had our own little fruit boat which gave us all our energy back when we were feeling tired! This was the most amazing trip of a lifetime and I have blues every single day thinking about it. If you get the opportunity to go please don’t pass it up because it’s something you can simply not regret!
