Woke up inside a bus, checked time only to find that it was 15:37, it had been a five hour drive. And looking outside the window i saw mountains that were beautified by trees which painted those mountains green. While my eyes were still caught up by the beauty of the mountains, the girl who was sitting next to me poked me and when i turned my head to face her, i saw fear in her eyes and before i could say anything, she asked if i realized that we were on top of mountain and driving on its edge. I took my eyes away from the mountains and put my focus on what she had asked me only to realize that we were really driving on a mountain's edge, and the excitement that had filled mind faded away and was replaced by fear caused by thoughts of what would happen if the bus was to fall down the edge and although the driver seemed comfortable, the fear was shadowing my mind but it was not dark enough to cover the light that shining in my heart to reach the destination which my heart had labelled as paradise. So instead of running away from the shadow of fear, i took of portion of the light that was in my heart and enlightened my mind and started to see beauty in what i feared. It was my first to get close to mountains, but their beauty attracted me that it made me feel like i was born on those mountains as I wondered whose hands created such beautiful art. I was once told about the most creative artist whose name is Nature and his art is to beautify his mother, Earth. Then the saying, "A shark grows to its environment." started to make sense, as i was now a shark that was taken out of a shark tank and placed in an ocean. It is said that that on a road to success/beauty, one goes through difficult situations before reaching his or her destination. But for me it was different, on the road to beauty or paradise, according to my heart i was going through beauty's cousins. And although i had heard about paradise and the beauty of it, no one ever mentioned the beauty of the road that leads to it. The closer we got, the greener it was, and before we got there i had concluded that indeed it is the most greener city in the world. As we entered the province, the atmosphere was changing and approaching paradise, we could feel the warm current from Mozambique that keeps paradise warm than the rest of the country. We were now part of the city and one would swear that were breathing premium oxygen that was released by the beautiful trees within the city. As if we needed confirmation of that we were really in paradise, we heard sounds of little egrets near the Indian Ocean...Yes, we were in paradise and paradise was Durban. The welcoming atmosphere matched with the welcoming people residing there. A day, after our arrival, we went to Ushaka Marine World, and being there felt like i had just walked into an ocean as i acknowledged life in an ocean and saw how fish live. I somehow felt like a mermen. From there we visited the Durban Botanic Gardens where i became one with the plants. In conclusion, Durban is not just paradise but it's a definition of a beautiful city and it gives us a reason to protect and care for our beloved Earth.
