Peng is a slang word used in England for beautiful and Tings is commonly used for things. This Travel story is about the Beautiful Things I saw in England as an African girl who was flying for the first in her life, and that flight was 17 hours adding the connecting flight to Cairo Egypt, crazy right? We had a connecting flight to Egypt spend a few hours there, airports are the reflection of the people around the place and everyone was amazing and willing to help when we needed translations. No one stared at us, that was one of the things I was scared of being looked at because I am different and made uncomfortable but to my surprise everyone was minding their business. This was a performing arts trip, and as a performer I imagined myself as a trained classic artist while walking the streets of London, City of Bath, Cambridge and Wiltshire. There is so much history that I have never thought I will one day get to know while experiencing the places from seeing palaces, museum's to seeing historical places, these experiences got me to into connecting with the local people and asking more questions that we normally do not get to ask as tourists, like the connection of Stonehenge to the Boere War that happened in between England and South Africa. An an artist information is important to draw up character of the place, and getting to know those stories and visiting Shakespeare's home helped me to create a theatre piece at the end of our trip. We performed at the Shakespeare's Globe as a student play, a play that had a connection with what we thought England was to what what we saw it for. Peng Tings were what we projected throughout the play with representation of how I saw myself as a young black person in England away from my comfort of family and friends to exploring more of myself through connecting with people and creating Peng moments. We used Travel and Sport as our endorsement, meaning the company was responsible for our flights being booked on time, accomodation, itineraries and extra activities. Cost: The total Airfees were R11523.00 including Tax that was R20.00 in 2015 and the Air Fair was R5320.00 for the Departure and Return tickets The traveling costs were close to R20 000.00 that covered all our accomodation, food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), transportation, activities, entertainment, and insurance. This trip was an eye opener, and made me want to travel more to other countries and that is the plan for this year for more vlogs and blogs. To more Peng Travels, experiences, places and people.
