Making a local connection Brazil

People makes places. I never like the idea of generalize things. Believe in the whole for its parts, it always wake rejection but during the two weeks time I spend in Brazilian soil, specifically in Rio de Janeiro, its capital until 1960, makes me want to believe that what applies to that city, applies for the whole country, or at least, culture. I can waste the whole English dictionary in describing rivalry between Rio and Sao Paolo, the neighborhoods styles, the chaotic avenue of Nossa Senhora de Copacabana at the dawn of new years eve, the 15 minutes of fireworks at that same midnight, the unique colors of each of its beaches, the sunsets, the sunrises, the warm harmful sun, the tender nights, the street smells, the flavor of Globo biscuit, the building colors and shapes, the scenarios from Pao de Açucar, the pictures at Cristo Redentor, the heavenly virgin blue from Buzios, the wild green from Parque Lague, the ethnic diversity of a Friday night, the lessons of Samba from the locals, the drinks of the pubs and the discos, the sound of Bossa Nova at night, the lousy downtown as well as the drapes and clothes of the people, but it would be useless. I would have the lack of the very essence Rio has to offer you. The main attraction its in the funny imagination between brothers living in the same house, the cries and weeps with friends at the Reveillon, the peace you can taste in its breeze walking by the sideway of Ipanema and Copacabana, the claps at the end of the sunset, the secret of the vigil until the sunrise, the kindness from the people who is willing to take care of your stuff so you can get in the ocean for a while, the awareness of the unlucky ones who live in the streets, the sharing of your food with an stranger, the hugs at Corcovado and the kisses minutes after the trip at the Bondinho, the sky touching sensation of being at Corcovado, the stories from the taxi driver until Jardín Botanico from a share Uber with an unknown fellow, the laughs at Lapa, the dance with a dreamy love, the sensation of back soundtrack at the mornings of Tom Jobim and Caetano Veloso, the share combination of city and beach in the same place, the surreal mysticism that can turn almost everything, possible. And the constant smile from the cariocas, everywhere, all the time, until the end of the Cidade Maravilhosa. This kind of connection come with an attitude of dealing with the strange, face the unknown, be willing to discover, even a bit of reckless attitude with the safety and hygiene rules you read before a trip. But you should be finding the safeguard for those contingencies by now. In other words the beginning is in itself, the experience will go as further as you are willing to go, there, is the charm in this trip, it's like Secret Path Books. Let's put it this way, it's like a sincere and easy trade, if you put empathy, sincerity, companionship, love, it can’t give anything but the same. Living by this premise, everybody it's almost bound to live by the same principles, because at the end of the day everybody search for the same, happiness, peace, or that feeling of light in your shoulders and head. You cannot understand it unless you live it or put it on practice. Books will be always a step behind the reality. Even those whose pages are stick to each other and the spine hasn’t been cracked yet. The best way to discover other places is beginning with yourself, and you will know that true happiness is only genuine, when its share with others, so, thanks Rio for its people.
