Sometimes you need to risk

A leap into the unknown Czech Republic

Svaty Jan pod Skalou, Czech Republic. After few long and exhausting days spent thinking about whether or not to visit this very mysterious place, I found myself stuck between the woods and rocks of cold Czech Republic. There was an interesting camp taking place there so I decided to give it a try. First impressions - definitely not something you fall in love with. Abandoned prison turned into a college, grumpy sky looking like there are seconds left before it starts crying. I clenched my fists with, to be honest, not that loud and secure voice in my head saying "you got this". No Wi-Fi, weak signal on your mobile devices...and suddenly, the voice you heard earlier starts trembling. First night was the hardest one for me. Sleeping with 7 more people from 7 different countries laying next to you without the help of your mother language if you need something was not an easy task to finish. Knowing that there are no family or friends you can rely on, no one you can call, the only option was to clench my fists for the second, the last time. Couple of days have passed and I started to fit in. The food was delicious, my Indian friend was eating everything that I couldn't because it is too hot, spicy. We started having a great time together, singing and playing the guitar when the night comes. For instance, a friend of mine, that had travelled all the way from Guatemala once sang "La Bamba" so everyone started dancing. Finally, the nature found its place on the agenda. A 15km hike through the forrest was organized by the tutors. Such a sweaty hiking it was. After kilometers of walking we saw first canyon, after few more - lakes, tiny waterfalls and channels. I am quite sure that everyone forgot about the humid greeting us from (finally) a happy and cheerful air. However, the last and probably the most amazing thing I can remember from this extraordinary adventure is waiting for a sunrise on the hill that was nearby. 16°C in the middle of August and cold wind scratching your cheeks were nothing to be bothered with. I thought I could see the whole Czech Rebublic waking up after me for the first time in those 7 days. To summarize, I met amazing people and spent wonderful week of my summer in Sv. Jan pod Skalou. This trip really showed me that very often you need to risk while making decisions in order to find something new and worth clenching your fists couple of times.
