I am taking you to the discovery of the Amalfi coast breathtaking landscapes where steep mountains are heading towards the Tyrrhenian sea. This is probably one of the most beautiful coast in Italy, Europe, and maybe in the world. A narrow, winding and majestic road leads to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, villages perched like eagle's nests between sea and sky. The Amalfi coast extends over 50 km of coastline on the South of the Sorrento Peninsula, in the region of Campania. Positano is the first town you meet on the Amalfi Coast when coming from the west. Positioned on a vertical cliff plunging into the turquoise waters, Positano is a delightful city with Moorish-looking houses that hide among green gardens terracing down to the sea. How not to fall in love with this colorful village hanging on the mountain. When enjoying the Amalfi Coast, one of the very best ways to skip the crowds of tourists in Positano and Amalfi is by staying in the neighboring town of Praiano instead. Just a fifteen-minute drive away, the quiet fishing village of Praiano is packed with sleepy charm and local flavor that can sometimes be hard to find along the well-beaten path of the Amalfi Coast. Considered the little sister of Positano, the village of Praiano, nestled on the mountainside, is one of the many picturesque villages located along the beautiful and wild Amalfi Coast. When leaving Praiano in the direction of Amalfi you'll see this stunning rock formation called "la Madonnina" that looks like the Virgin Mary with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. The main town of the admirable Amalfi Coast, Amalfi La Blanche is a small city of Spanish style with high houses that, overlooking a valley facing the sea, make up with the waters of a deep blue an admirable and a must-see site. Do not miss the visit to Saint Andrew’s Cathedral (“Cattedrale di Sant’Andrea” or “Duomo di Amalfi”), the city’s biggest points of interest. This Cathedral has the particularity of being the union of two basilicas, one dating from around the year 1000 and the other from the middle of the 9th century. In the 13th century, the building was united into a single one, which has, since, five naves. After climbing the majestic staircase, you will face the imposing and splendid Byzantine bronze doors of the cathedral. Accessing from the Duomo's left atrium, start the visit with the charming Cloister of Paradise. This one is made up of marble columns (over a hundred!) with a Mediterranean garden and a fountain in the center. Then continue your visit with the Basilica of the Crucifix and the Diocesan Museum. Discovery of the Amalfi Coast comes to an end with the beautiful perched village of Ravello. Overlooking the sea at more than 300 m altitude, at the top of the Dragon Valley, this place has become the destination of many tourists. In the end it's the most beautiful trip of my life
