Jamaica, Jamaica, oh sweet land we love. With your astonishing palm trees and boastful blue seas, you are the most beautiful above all. I woke up this morning to your supreme sunshine rays pouncing on my skin; I feel the vibration of your beauty racing through my veins. The air I breathe, oh so different to the air on a foreign land. Freshly produced by nature’s most organic creations. Palm trees, mango trees, guinep trees, ackee trees and more. You radiate refinement through your bright colours across the island. It’s so hard for me to contain my excitement. I’m ready to explore you again but this time in more depth. I’ve missed your touch. I feel the resonance of the roots rocking reggae creep up my spine, the deep thumping of your baseline creating a nostalgic memory in my peaceful mind. Oh how I love the memories we have shared. I hear the sizzling of the jerk chicken and fried breadfruit in your rustic jerk pan, and the smell, oh the smell of thyme, pimento and garlic bustle up my nostrils causing my stomach to rumble and my mouth to dribble like the Dunn’s river fall. You let me taste your masterpiece. I almost cried of joy, but I contained my emotions. Why did I leave you alone for so long? The jerk spices enlighten my throat, making me feel so warm and comforted. A taste so delectable and succulent. They did not lie when they said you make the best food on planet earth. Your people wave at me making me feel so warm and at home. Their smiling faces take away all of my pain and worries and get washed away into the Atlantic Ocean. Even the Billy goats seem to walk through the streets of Spanish Town so gracefully with the upmost respect for me even though I abandoned you for some time. I love you Jamaica and if this is what it feels like to be home then I never want to leave you. Never, Ever, Ever again. You have my word.
