The amazing journey I always dreamed about finally came on the 27 June 2018 at about at about 10: 45 pm. I was sitting in my bedroom listening to our radio station when I heard about a competition where listeners had to enter by send a certain message to a certain number, I remember correctly on my cell phone I had R 1.50 and fortunately the sms was costing exactly R 1.50. I followed the rules on how to send the sms and the following day I received a call from the Radio Station and had to answer a certain questions on air. To be honest I was so scared and shaking, but fortunately I nailed all the questions and I won the trip to go and watch one of the most amazing FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018 tournament. Going to Russia was a bit of a worry for me because of their notorious movies we always watch in televisions and in other social media platforms. However, I told myself I cannot lose my chance because of that. We took a plane to Dubai and took another one to Russia. When we arrive there I came across something completely different from what I always think of Russian people. They booked us in one of the top hotels in the world which is the Intercontinental Hotel. We went to the reception to collect our room keys and when I open to my 10th floor room number 110, I felt something coming down from my eyes and I released I was crying from what I was looking at. While in my room I could also hear others screaming and in jubilation from what they were seeing in their rooms. Everything was white in my room and I felt like I was I heaven. Because we arrived very late at about 19:00 am we had to sleep. The following day in the morning a meeting was called in the foyer and we were given 300 dollars to spend on whatever we want. That was even more super amazing from all the 52 of us. 300 dollars was equals to R 4500.00 and my mind was so blown away because everything was catered for including, meals, transportation, accommodation, entertainment, spar treatment, and soccer tickets for the games we were going to watch. After getting the money a bus took us to town where we bought clothes, and other things we loved from Russia. Then we went back to hotel. The very same day afternoon we went to a luxurious dinner and we got an opportunity to mingle with the Russian people, learn how they live, eat, and dance. It was a very awesome experience, because I got a chance to make some friendships and make some business deals with others. When we went back to the hotel we had a huge party in the hotel where people from different countries were there to celebrate the World Cup in Russia. Then I realized that Russian people are very, friendly, lovely, and social unlike from what I knew before. The following day we attended the match where Russia was playing against Spain and the Russian team won the match by 4 – 3 on penalties. I have never seen a celebration like that in the city of Russia, people were running around the city, cars were hooting everywhere, Russian Flags were flying high, music was playing so high in every passing car in the city, people were making noise out of the windows in their moving cars, hugs were given in each and every person regardless of your nationality, photos were taken like crazy, and all was I celebration of the victory got in the game. The very same night we went to the dancing club in Russia where we had VIP tickets and I got the chance to meet great Musicians and party all night. I never imagined Russia so nice like that way I so it, every time someone talked about Russia I would think of guns, and violent behavior situation. However, from the experience I had it was a completely different story to tell. I did not expect to find amazing vibe in Russia.
