I’m a Haitian women who desires to learn more about my Haitian culture. Based on my childhood and stories told by family members, Haiti is a disaster but I refuse to accept it. Haitian is full of incredible artists, scientists, and philosophers but for some reason out of all the Caribbean and/or African descendant countries Haiti is often neglected and misunderstood. My mother and grandmother, both died when I was young (mom-6, gram-11) and they always spoke about going back to their country. I know they would want me to discover the truth about why Haiti is the way it is and educate the world. I would go on my own but I can’t afford to pay for my entire trip on my own and life always seems to get a hold of me. I know if I had the financial assistance and a purpose to work towards-I could make crazy discoveries.
