The natural Granite-white sand beach was shown when we arrived in such a beautiful island. we got the natural soul like the wind blowing softly in an incredible panorama. it is very completely site to escape our routine. if the adventure begins probably it should be started from here even though this is only a small island in eastern part of Sumatra sea, closer to singkep island Kepri Province Indonesia, but historically the island is much more chronicles to Jambi Province Land of Sumatra because the name of the island "Berhala" came from the first king of new kingdom of Jambi at 15th century and his grave is still found in one of the hill nearby the tourism site Travelling to the sacred natural island is full of challenges as well as a beautiful adventure. you are really entering the gate of impressive realm, when we tried booking the traveling there only have once a week schedule , usually does the voyage from Nipah have (the nearest port of Jambi province) from Jambi city to Nipah needs three hours travelling by car because of the bad road which is the first challenge to get there. if we got Nipah (small town) situated in the nearest to estuary of the river Batanghari when there is no trip to Berhala Island, we should be ready to get hotel along the mouth river town there. from Nipah to Berhala takes about one hour by wooden small boat with capacity 35 passengers, the boat is much faster because of using the double machine with 200 HP (horse power). The second challenge is the uncomfortable boat, not only the chair from wooden board but also the jolt of the wave perhaps necessary takes more energy to restrain the wave exposure, that would get seasick though it’s not long time but all of those will be paid with the naturally tropical island, the exotic sand with granite stone growing from island everywhere staring you a wonder. There are some activities we can enjoy as much as we want likely tracking along seaside or tiny forest, diving and camping without modern facility. in night till late we can spend it out with music or sitting on the emerging stone by seeing campfire or full moon or stars , in the morning we can do exercises perhaps jogging around the island or jumping to the sea, it’s better to find in the afternoon when the sea level is gradually increasing high but one thing the grilled fish is so delicious i have ever tasted . it’s called “bawal” fish. but when you get asleep, as if the time runs slowly and stop , just sound of wave says hello to white sand and stone, the sensation you get brought passing the test of extremely experience, overall you have wild soul to enjoy all of those. One of unforgettable site is “King of Jambi grave” you have to visit as respectful to this realm. Beyond the hill, behind the local inns only a hundred meters from seaside the sacred grave of “Datuk Paduka Berhala” is one only buried there. He was the first king of new Jambi kingdom from early 15th Century who came from Turki and married with the Jambi queen “ Putri Selaras Pinang Masak”. The third challenge is no hotel here only the inns from local. Accordingly, if you wonder so much ,you must pass through the challenges because the exotic-natural rewards us more than we expect.
