A leap into the unknown Angola

If I believed? I began to believe after almost being eaten by a crocodile in the kwanza river, in Malanje, a small province of northern Angola. Yes, after we can't eat the delicious fruits of the black pungo andongo stones because the ancestors could kill us, we almost died because we didn't understand what those lands hold. When we swam through the warm waters of the kwanza river, an old man with empty and mysterious expressions ordered us to leave the river and give our offering, if we did not, we would die. My father looked at him and so drove up to the car and handed him two bottles of wine, he looked at us and said "MUSAMBU NI KULONGA, WEMBU NI KIZOLA" and then he left. When we continued to swim the crocodile appeared, we were silent and looked around the area. The old man wasn't there. As soon as he arrived, he dumped the two bottles of wine into the river and the animal left us. The old man was the God of that area, people believe he can command the animals, and from what my grandmother told,, he was the crocodile. They invoke the ancestors, African spirits that prowl that area and many people believe they are evil spirits. People are afraid of that old man, but they still respect him. I met God, and I could only because of this trip. I have learned that everyone believes in what is in their reach, and today I believe that nothing is impossible and that every journey is a reach.
