We were terrified. It was our first trip overseas EVER. It was supposed to be great and it wasn’t really a good start. We were traveling back in 2014 when the Internet still wasn’t available everywhere, we didn’t have a Thai sim card, so forget about Google Maps. We’ve been all by ourselves. We had no idea what to do or where to go, our backpacks were heavy and we were exhausted. And then… we saw HIM. Our travel angel. God had sent him open our eyes, we deserved it obviously. He was tall, muscular and broad, he approached us with a warm welcoming smile. As our white British feet scraped along the warm golden sands, our angel pointed us in the direction of our hotel we was accommodating in, we plodded like a lost tourist would. We got to the pier where we had to heave ourselves upon and took a breath and turned around our naked eyes lied upon the beautiful city of pathos , known for its night life, the city really does come alive at night for this country. Imagine thousands of paper lanterns, lit by flickering candles, floating into the night sky against a full moon. We both decided to head to the hotel to unpack our luggage and go exploring as it was nearly sun down. We arrived at our hotel, it was amazing. The lounge stretched upon any could desire, the marble floors glistened and smelt of home. Argh it was amazing! We couldn’t contain our excitement, so we plunged downstairs and set out. The stormy afternoon sky dissolved into a fiery sunset that painted the clouds neon orange. Wow! Is all that entered my non functioning brain, legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the ancient goddess of love and beauty, that certainly lives upon the divine patroness. A stunning Mediterranean island steeped in legend, myth, and romance. Why would anyone not want to see this?
