A totally unplanned trip with my family to Bali, Indonesia. Travel isn’t only about roaming around or sightseeing, it’s fetching for an experience and It is safe to say that I had the best experience of my life at Bali. We went to 3 specific areas- Seminyak, Ubud and Nusa Dua. Seminyak is for people who love partying, are outgoing by nature. Ubud is more like South Goa, secluded, rustic, beautiful, serene and finally, Nusa Dua is for adventurers! Hiking, trekking, scuba diving, etc. One Location and so diverse in it’s own way. Bali loops you in a dynamic experience. My family and I entered the place. The airport was magnificent and gave us a cultural vibe! Bali’s religious beliefs are somewhat inclined with India. That was a revelation. We stayed at Peppers, Seminyak. I explored the area around me alone. Observing and Learning are two aspects I thoroughly enjoy. I tried almost all the cuisines there and the shocking part was that everything was brilliant and just right. In India, roaming around in small clothes or even exposing our bodies a bit is looked down upon. Every time I go abroad, I get a feeling of independence that is still socially stigmatised in India. I spoke with the people in and around shops, clubs, beaches, the staff in my hotel. I enjoy talking! We danced to the music on the bar platform, we swam every morning and afternoon in the ocean and we got tanned. An indian getting tanned means one’s skin turning brown/black which is very different from Americans and English. We finished 3 bottles of sunscreen and still ended up getting tanned. The people around us came from different places and it felt like a unity between different countries and communities, I was expecting to see more of Indonesians but it was the opposite and that definitely was a plus point. Seeing people from different countries, sharing a common space is just beautiful. The cool breeze and the beach vibe combined with the aesthetics and inclusive layout of the city was majestic. Ubud was all about solitude. Beautiful sculptures, temples especially- uluwatu. I was surprised too see that it was created on the edge of the cliff! A devotee’s statue standing right up at least a 100 feet tall who died praying there. The place gives you goosebumps with probably the best view you could ever receive of the ocean and it’s currents from at least 500 feet above on the cliff. Ubud is rustic and genuinely loved by people who wish to get a getaway from their monotonous and hectic lives. It’s quiet and serene. I realised that fun is not only about parties but in attaining mental peace. One’s mind being calm and peaceful is so rare in today’s fast world. We then went to Nusa Dua and we tried a new form of adventure- flying fish! It was crazy and beyond words. Parasailing, jet ski, banana boat are all the activities to do in the sea with your family and friends. Our instructors were kind but at the same time proper business-men. They knew how to get the rupiahs out of our pockets By using cheesy lines.
