TEACHMEPAD TRAVEL WRITING ADVENTURE : THE EDUCATION TECHNOLOGIES WE WANT IN RURAL AFRICA. The idea came during a series of travels by road from Yaounde (Cameroon) to Bangui (Central Africa Republic) and Congo (DRC) as travel writing adventure on how the educational gap between rural Africa and the rest of the world could be bridged at a cost effective rate. Visiting rural areas in Cameroon, Central African Republic and Congo, we were appalled by the difficulties that students and teachers alike had in accessing readily available online data which more than often proved to be indispensable for a proper Knowledge Acquisition Process. In a bit therefore to create a readily accessible database of scholarly material for these teachers and students who generally live in crisis stricken regions or areas where there is more or less no access to electricity, the idea of an Intelligent ICT Solar Educational Tablet TEACHMEPAD designed with Durable Wood was born as the education technologies we want in rural central Africa. TEACHMEPAD PROJECT : THE BUSINESS OF TRAVEL WRITING FROM STORY TO LIFE. After writing a travel story on education, we decided to develop the solution TEACHMEPAD according to our travel writing adventure. For the launching phase of the project, the educational systems ( Anglophone and Francophone) of Cameroon have been prioritized. And, at this stage, we hope that as more stakeholders show interest in the project, we will extend it to en-globe other countries of the Central African Sub-Region (CEMAC).
