Buddhism is a way of life and not a religion, for me I had always been facinated and wish to follow that way. I love buddah and had always wish to travel all buddist countries. I was returning from Manali to Delhi, exchanging few words with my driver, I told him I love buddah then he told me the nearby city name is Dharamshala. Surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile. The chölling Temle complex is a spiritual centre for Tibetan Buddhism, while the library of Tibetan works and Archives houses thousands of precious manuscripts. For me while we where going there, I have no idea about all these, if it was the main ashram for Dalai Lama. once we arrived, I can see lots of young boys in their red brown dress walking on both side of the street with their bowl looking for food. My driver took me directly to the temple, to my great surprised I found a big banner near the entrance that the day after his Holiness dalai lama will be present for the shotön opera festival. I was shocked as it was an unplanned event. I went inside the temple, the main priest and the the Dalai lama was recital the mantra " om mani padme hum " I found myself lost in that peaceful environment. I wanted to meet him personally and get his blessing which was almost impossible, because the place is too crowded and lots of security everywhere. The day after I went to the shöton opera festival early morning, expecting to get a good place in front as the Dalai lama will make his way through the crowd. Nine o'clock Sharp he was here, thousand of people was all over the place, pushing each other to take picture and wanted to salute him. I was standing in the first row, too nervous that I stay to cry as I was very happy. I was going on the stage, when suddenly he stops and look at me, he hold my hands and remove a mantra chain from his neck and put that in my neck and continue his way. Everyone was looking at me. I was in a confusing situation. Am I dreaming or it's was reality. That's way the best gift ever in my entire life. I don't even now that his Holiness stay in India and got the privilege of meeting him and also got a valuable gift from him. Can't ask for more than that. Life is so unpredictable. Since all these events happened, I do meditation daily wherever I am. Unplanned trip are the best.
