According to many people around the world, travel is one of the best ways to "disconnect" from the world, from everyday life. However, some may think of travel in a different way. I can say that, for me, in the trip I made with my family to the city of Cachoeira, Bahia, Brazil, a city that is one of the cities of the Bahia recôncavo that carries a good part of the history of this land of all saints, my land, to travel and to know this city was like diving in my own roots, in my own history, in my own past. The moment my feet touched that shoeled stone floor was where the journey really began, thoughts and imagination flowed curiously through every detail that my eyes visualized, in search of the plot behind those buildings and monuments. The Mother Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, built in 1687, carries all the unshakeable belief and faith of the local devotees. Its images, silver tabernacle, canvases and beautiful tile covering convey, besides peace, with success the representativeness that the religious has in that place. During the crossing of Dom Pedro 2 Bridge, which has an old train line (this line is still running) I took pictures with my family and I couldn't help feeling the cold in my belly already at that time and thinking about all the events, all the things and people transported through that means of rail transportation that was so important back then. In the face of all this, sometimes travelling can mean knowing yourself, knowing more about your own history and ancestry.
