It was 3 am in the morning that I was asked to travel by road to my husbands village. Without knowing the time it takes to travel there as this was my first time, I jumped in the car and we were on the road. In the car I dozed of since the place was so cold and at the same time it was still dark. After about 4 hours of travel and we came to this look out where the view was just prefect over looking famous Lake Kutubu (Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea) with the sun raising over the horizon giving this magnificient orange colour sky. Without hesitation we went out got pictures and went along on our way again. As we were traveling along this no men's land there were a lot of thing that capture my eyes and we had to stop to enjoy the scene and make comments on how beautiful the mountains and the vegetation was. The scent of the freshness of the air and everything about it. We drove for almost 10 hours and the sunsets but the place was humid so we had to stop for a fresh water to quench our thirst, there was this very moment that capture my attention was the colour of the water that runs down from the mountain that was clear blue from far but when we went close to have a look it was crystal clear and you can clearly see the different colour pebbles that were on the river bed. To our amazement we can literally see the different colours of fish swimming up and down the glass like still river. I was like wow I have never seen such in my life and the place is too beautiful to describe. At last late in the afternoon we arrived home and there sitting in the hamlet full of people who welcomes us with a lot of food and tales to entertain us around a big bonfire. The satisfying feeling of been at home and at peace creeps in and until the flames of the blazing fire glows the dark night started to reduce its heat and flames, that's when I realised that its time to retire to bed.
