Making a local connection Morocco

It was one of the most amazing days i have ever spent on the coast area, and it happened in Morocco. For two weeks, my days were spent on chilling, surfing and eating so delicious food, all that with one of the most astonishing coast view I have ever seen, and surrounded by very friendly people. I will explain to you why it was such unforgettable smiling days. I arrived on my own in an early morning, in a small harbor, now invaded by gangs of surfers. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and i did not really know what to expect. I like calm places, watching the sea, even more sunsets, and hear to the sound of the waves ... so i spent my first days getting peace and filling myself with the spirit of the place. Day by day, i get used to the slow and magic dynamic of the place. Getting up and eating a delicious moroccan breakfast, watching the waves, going back and forth to the two spots, checking the tide to decide when it is the right time to get in the water catching waves. Walking around the small cities, between surf shops and tea places, living the moroccan way of life, i slowly disconnected, and talked more and more to locals every day, getting advices for surfing, or just chit chatting discovering their life. The time out of the water is dedicated to the simple things of life, buying food, cooking, resting, and mostly taking time to talk and having fun. One night, i was watching at the sunset, with the stars above the sea, that place was just out of the time. I talked with a surf teacher that was living in that city, and we spend the night watching the stars, under the warm wind. The day after, we went to the harbor place to buy some fresh fishes from the fishermen. The next step was to bring the sardines to a local restaurant, so that the cook can grilled them. While waiting for the food, we had a delicious sugary tea, sat on a table with a view on the bay. I can't express the feeling on how wonderful was time we spend there. The association of being with a nice friend, eating fresh and delicious food, especially for a French girl, with a magical view of the sea was just amazing. Simple moments like that really made my days. The day after, we bought food at the local grocery. Fouad invited me and some other friends to his place for a home made tajine with tea. We sat on the carpets, ate with fingers that delicious meal that he made just for us. And we spend the night talking, laughing and skating in the streets of the city. The days after were made of happy moments like that, every minute was a blessing. I did not expect to meet so friendly people over there, and thinking about coming back was really difficult. During this week, I met my friend Fouad, he introduced me to his life, his place, his world, and it is the kind of encounter that changes you. I will keep a piece of that days with him inside of me for the rest of my days, and will never thank him enough for that moments out of the time.
