It's August 2019 & I'm hopping on a plane to a place I'd only ever visited in my dreams. The flight is long, but worth it. Upon arrival, my eyes lock in on the palm trees lining the dazzling white, sandy beaches. The water is so clear I could drink it. My skin is warm. I can feel the sweat rolling down my chest, but the soft breeze running through my hair sends goosebumps down my back. One foot out of the door and SPLASH, I’m jumping feet-first into the crystal blue water. The most sought after destination in the world: The Maldives. Tropical fruits fill my belly and sunshine warms my soul. I’m surrounded by turquoise lagoons and pristine beaches. I couldn’t feel more at peace with life than I am in this very moment. It’s almost dusk, my feet are dangling over the balcony that sits above the water. The vibrant and lively underwater world is keeping me company as I await the painted skies that come with a beautiful summer sunset. Orange. Pink. Purple. And Blue. I watch as the sky cycles through the rainbow until the stars begin the poke through. I’m not dreaming anymore. I wake up the next morning to the mesmerizing sound of the ocean rolling in and out of shore. Arms stretched back, sun peeking through, I’m ready for a full day of rejuvenation. Sunrise yoga? Check. Morning swim? Check. A colorful fruit breakfast with a steaming cup of coffee – I can get used to this. Snorkeling, boating, swimming, and more. This dream destination has everything I could ask for. As the sun soars across the sky and the salt on my skin begins to dry, I sit with a view of the west. The best part of the day hasn’t even happened yet. My favorite part of living. Mother Nature’s gift to the world – her most beautiful gift: Sunset. And just like the evening of my arrival, the sky beings to turn orange. Then pink. Then purple. Then blue. The faster I go to bed, the sooner I get to do this all over again.
