A leap into the unknown India

On the third day of the module, I went to see the sunrise in the little rann of Kutch, which comes on the border of Rajasthan and Gujarat in India, which was half an hour's drive from the Desert Courses, the resort in which we stayed, in the small village known as Zainabad. Reaching the open desert, I along with my co - fellows waited for a while, sitting, gazing and observing the sky changing its hues every minute. As the brightness expanded the horizon became clear. With the little light, we could see our surroundings, all were appearing to be very tiny, scattered in the open field lost as there was no point of reference and the horizontal scale was vast without any verticality. The ground was moist inside, but the surface was cracked all over. Observing the immediate landscape, a thought emerged in my mind about how our lives have become in this consumerism world where most of us have lost the centrality and the freedom is such which comes in the open facet of submerged awareness and sensitivity in any perception. We all have emotions, empathy inside us but we cover it up with the show faces, being multiple in number and longing around situations. We become so unavailable to our essence that with time our vulnerability keeps on growing and we feel that its infinity makes us human which is just a slight assumption of our self-made unarticulated ambivalence of thoughts catalyzed by the prevailed confusion in the world. Coming back to the cite we moved near the place where a family resided in a small hut who was evaporating salt from the salinated soil. They did not even have the bare minimum facilities to survive, the struggles to sustain are ample which is not valued in a small substance as salt. I held it and felt the effort that was devoted to making a living. Such is the disparity of the society some created by the physical conditions of the environment, some established by the corrupted system. Salt which is just a mineral has a significant history associated with India, keeping it my hand, I had a similar feeling of commitment towards truth and non - violence. It made me traveled into the imagination of Salt Satyagraha where just a single person Mahatma Gandhi started the Indian Independence Movement which attracted the village masses giving them the courage to fight oppression. Just a small piece of rock lead movement The Space and experience gave me audacity and self-reflection making me more aware of what I want to do in life to liberate people from oppression, self-doubt and the phenomenon of identity.
