The real journey

A leap into the unknown Brazil

The last years of my life have been a lot of personal change, especially when I understood that for my world to change, I needed to change. I realized that I needed to develop new skills and new resources that I had not yet developed. I found the universe called self-knowledge, or also called, leap into the unknown. Throughout my academic history, at school and college, I manifested procrastinating behaviors. In the classroom, a constant restlessness insisted on accompanying me. It was challenging to be present, body and soul, during the teachers' explanations. I confess to having suffered for many years believing that I was wrong with the school. And it was through the journey through self-knowledge, I noticed that it was the school that went wrong with me. I was 26 to 27 years old, already trained as a lawyer and studying for a public exam, when I came across two questions that I did not know how to answer clearly. The questions were: Who are you? How do you see yourself in 2 and 5 years? At first, I judged them as simple and irrelevant. It didn't take long to notice how wrong and distant I was from myself. Totally disconnected from my essence. It all started, or better said, started again, when reading the book Power Without Limits, by a writer named Anthony Robbins. I had never heard of such a person, after all, it was to be expected from someone like me, someone who did not have reading as a habit in his life I remember very well how deeply this book impacted me, even though I confess to having been arrogant when reading it for the first time. At the height of my ignorance about the topic, I believed I understood and mastered the subject called Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). It didn't take long to notice, yet again, how wrong and distant I was from myself when reading it a second time. Such a book awakened not only my attraction to reading but also revealed to me the fantastic world of self-knowledge and personal development. Yes, this world was presented to me precisely by the man who is considered the most influential of our century, Anthony Robbins. I saw this change not only as a new lifestyle, but as a philosophy of life to follow. I placed mentors (Anthony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Daniel Goleman, Robert Kiyosaki, among others) in my main areas of life (emotional, spiritual, professional, financial and health). I learned, I learn and I will continue forever learning a lot of powerful content. I got to know the world of coaching by studying online courses. I also took three face-to-face courses on human development based on NLP at Instituto Instituo Você, where I noticed that real learning only happens when the individual experiences, leaves the theoretical field and practices what he reads. Many questions, many internal dialogues and real moments of introspection combined with the new tools learned during readings and courses, have taken priority in my decision making. At the height of my humility, I noticed that I had taken a quantum leap in terms of my personal development. Among the many phrases and reflections I learned, some stood out, such as the phrase spoken by the Father of Hypnosis Milton Hyland Erickson: “The real trip is not to visit new places, but to visit the same places with different eyes”. Such content could not be so true. That is, we need to polish ourselves as individuals, update our perceptions of the world around us. As Anthony Robbins says: "Nothing in life makes sense except what we choose to give". The journey through self-knowledge gives me powerful questions that challenge me to find answers. Which is great, because what challenges me changes me. The only constant in life is change. The essence of nature is to give and extract the maximum. No tree gives half the fruit it can. I know that this trip has no end, it never ends. I am looking for my life purpose. I have a burning desire to live on my passion. It is not by chance that the journey through meditation is increasingly present in my life.
