Travelling has always been a thing of solace for my family and I. Our adventures are usually unpredictable. My aunt and I pack our bags, fill the tank up and then decide where we're headed when we're on the road. One such adventure lead us to the quaint little town called kanthaloor. The caretaker of the place I stayed at in this town suggested that I visit a place a few miles away near a view point as the flowers 'neelakurinji' which blossomed one every 12 years were in full bloom. That was the first time i ever heard about the Neelakurinji. We got into the car searching for the best view point to witness this beautiful flower in all its glory. We reach the place and after a short steep climb, reached the top. And oh my! It was one spectacular view! Miles of green rolling hills had turned into purple ones because of these beautiful flowers blooming all at once. I sat on a rock and watched the sun set ,on a hilltop where wild lemongrass grew all around us with blue-purple hills rolling in front of me. The sky splashed with hues of amber and gold melting into shades of pink and purples; A beautiful background for the stunning blue-purple hills rolling in front of me. I sat there with my eyes closed, bathing in the warmth of the sun, inhaling the faint smell of lemongrass tingling in the air. A bunch of people walk by, few of the lucky ones who have heard about this beautiful place. I was lucky enough to be told about this place by the locals. And much more luckier to visit it. "Breathe it all in" my aunt said. "Let this moment speak for itself. Listen to its silence and treasure it forever." And so, I did.
