The sun is now peaking beyond the clouds and I now have 19 hours in the sky under my belt and my flight just touched down. I am now off to my voyage of seeing as much of India’s lands I can possibly see before the end of the week. The crunchy authentic taste of samosas and rich flavors of the curry from Chingri Malai gave me complete life. As I continued on my journey from a list of the must see sights of India, it led me to exploring on paintings at the Kukki’s cave, relaxing at Goa beach, and greatly enjoying the near by dining halls. However, my journey would become personally impactful once I walked amongst the Hindu temples like Shree Swaminarayan and Har Ali Pauri Haridwar and observed Panch- Snaan (A bath to the Deities), and Aarti-Puja (which is a ritual of fire offering to the Goddess of the Ganga River). The vibrant colors of thousands of flowers and candles, with their offerings of Diyas mirrored their love and devotion to their own individual spiritual journey and as a collective. My travels that began as an open experience into the unknown would soon take a shift into a newfound personal journey of inner clarity. It was the energy of the Hindu temples and their teachings that spoke to me internally. It is like stepping into a new space and instantly feeling right at home. The Hindu practices gave me inner peace I never felt before, which had open a new perspective on life itself. My journey became trips back in forth to temples and speaking to devotees on their Hindu practices. I wanted to gain as much knowledge of these practices to do my own research. It was the weight of my heart that I felt a shift in, my heart felt lighter and easier to carry. I continued my travels of seeing as much of India as I can, exploring marketplaces for souvenirs and The Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary near my bed and breakfast. As I get close to the end of my voyage, I would once again dip my toes into the spiritual richness of India. This time I would adventure off to sit by the water for hours in front of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The sun reflecting off the golden walls of the temple was absolutely beautiful and something words could never fully describe. Returning back to my hotel I would reflect in my journal of my travels. Now exploring my mind of all the amazing things I experienced on this 3 week journey. Noting the tastiest foods and the most most beautiful views. But one subject I didn’t know I would add is the most meaningful moments of India’s spiritual practices that I would take with me back to the United States.
