The Three Must WATER is the most valuable resource on the island. If you do not have water you will die OR pass out. You sweat constantly. Ever time, I lick my lips they taste like salt. I tell my myself it is from the ocean breeze but I think it's just my sweat. SUNSCREEN is an necessity. Saint Kitts sits 80 degrees above the equator. YOU WILL BURN HERE. I don't care how long you have been here, where you are from, everyone needs sunscreen. Except of course the natives. Seriously though, they need it just as much as us. However, I do find it interesting that the natives don't spend as much time in the sun as the tourist. Maybe interesting is not the right word. BUG SPRAY is an necessity. When the mosquitoes down here bite you, you can really feel the after effect. You get a sore that boules and there is not really much you can do for it. For a lack of a better word, they suck. I love the untouched beaches. I love that you can pack a picnic, and find a secluded beach to enjoy a meal. However, natives say it is always best to travel in groups. TREE FROGS, FIREFLIES, BUTTERFLIES, MONKEYS, DONKEYS, AND WILD SHEEP! ALL YEAR LONG. Truly a magical place.
