It was only a few years ago when I realized that each country around its many flaws have a gem within each. When I went to India a few years ago my mind was set on a painted picture, with filth everywhere, people yelling at each other, a culture full of ignorance. When I went to India my mind was changed right when I could see the land up close from the air. I could see the various colours of the land from green fields of cane and palm trees, mango trees with fresh and the most delicious fruits I have ever had, the sights were even more beautiful on land. A group of us travelled to a city called Agra, along the way I completely lost track of the various cities with multiple cultures each unique in its own way. Castles, Forts, Abandoned Prisons, were sights to be seen, I could feel the battles and history as I walked through the paths along the walls of the buildings. Our final destination was the Taj Mahal it’s beauty so mesmerizing and it’s stories even more brought light to the trip as a whole, I would never forget the first glimpse of the massive structure symbolizing the love of the king for his queen. The little interactions I had with the locals, In each city were special, I was able to understand their stories of how each hard working man and women played a crucial role for their land and families. Their hard work was incomparable. Yes, I did see filth around the roads of the country, yes I saw some bickering folks, some cultures ignorant and thoughts of superiority, but my thoughts changed, India did not reposted the those, there was much more to this small country from the vast earth. Wonder, beauty, adventure, cultures that showed value to human and wildlife and considered sacred. I witnessed humanity, love and compassion from the people and realized that my views were as narrow as a crack in the wall and could only be expanded by exploring and setting foot on the lands of the countries around the world. I went out knowing what I would, expecting to find it, but what I really got out of the expected was the unexpected.
