Traveling has positive impact on humans, as it helps expose us to learn new culture, dance, food and possibly learning new languages and as generally accepted traveling is another form of education as people find it easy to learn. I am currently in my finals in Electrical/Electronic Engineering student and by God’s grace I will be rounding up this year. Traveling as a student is quite important and should be encouraged in the educational sector. I was privileged to visit Three Oil and Gas Fields (A place where Oil and Gas Wells are drilled and the Oil and Gas processed and produced) in three different locations from where I reside, as it is required for every student to have not just theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge in their field of study. The first Oil and Gas Field I visited was in the south-south of Nigeria and it was a Rig site (where oil and gas wells are located and drilled by experts) different from the other two Oil and Gas field which is a Flowstation (Where the Oil and Gas are processed and produced). It was on a rainy morning that I can remember quite vividly, it was a Road trip. The rain that day was quite intense as there was flood and traffic in the road which made us spend longer than we should on the road. Eventually, we arrived at the location, we ate and rested for that day. The next day and the day following those days we had to be up from bed as early as 5:30AM so we could get ready to go to the Oil and Gas field and breakfast time began from 6:00AM, we eventually adjusted to the environment and the timing for waking up, the time for Breakfast which was 6:00AM, Lunch was 12:00PM and Dinner 6:00PM. The location of our Accommodation and the Oil and Gas field was different so we had to be ready after breakfast around 7:00AM for the driver to come pick us up and drive us to the Oil and Gas Rig site. Our accommodation environment was quite bushy and was located in a remote area but was safe. The Oil and Gas Rig site was not like our accommodation environment as it was located in a developed area compared to our accommodation. We had our lunch in the Oil and Gas site and by 5:00PM or around that time, the driver comes to pick us up and drive us back to our accommodation where we had dinner. It was a 7 days experience and we lived that way and on a Sunday we had fellowship in the evening because we had to go to the Rig site in the morning. The Second field I visited was also in the Southern part of Nigeria. It was not a Rig site like the first one, it was a Flowstation. It was a 7 days experience different from the first one because I had to be up as earlier as 5:00AM to attend fellowship in the morning and a board meeting by 7:00AM before having breakfast. Finally, the last Oil and Gas field I visited was the best and different from the others as it was located in the South-East part of Nigeria and was a 14 days experience also we spent longer time in the road because the distances was quite far compared to the other two. This one, we had to be up as early as 5:30AM and eat breakfast from 6:00AM, breakfast might still be available for you at 7:00AM and everyday there is usually a meeting at 7:00AM and oftentimes by 4:30PM, after that time we were allowed to engage in sporting activities as I partook in soccer. Lunch is also served the same time as the other 12:00PM and same for dinner at 6:00PM. Also, we had fellowship Three times in a week (Sunday, Wednesday and Friday) by 7:30PM. All of this experience exposed me to learn and understand from different perspectives and a lot of movements were involved and this took place in the space of Four months. Glory to God.
