The adventure started on the plane, because although that I was traveling with my brother and a friend, on the way to Rio de Janeiro, I was alone and was the first time I traveled by plane without any family member. The main objective of the trip was to go to Rock in Rio, a music festival, one of the greatest in the world, to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers´s show. However, it was our first time in Rio de Janeiro so we took the opportunity to visit that wonderful city. The day after our arrival we went to see Copacabana Beach, again a leap into the unknown, because it was the first time I saw the sea and it was incredible. Even today I get emotional to remember that morning, of feel the cold water on my feet and see people walking on the famous Copacabana sidewalk. I remember feeling a shiver when I saw the reflection of the sun in the water, because it gave it a shade of blue that I’ve never seen before. The incredible experiences didn´t stop there. That same day we went to visit the Botanical Garden, which is a magical place, with a huge diversity of plants. We also met Christ the Redeemer, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Is a statue of a huge Christ with open arms giving the impression that is embracing the city. Then came the Big Day, the day of the Show. As it was my first time going to a music festival, I was super excited and a little nervous, not believing that I was about to see one of my favorites bands in the world. There would also be other shows that day, but for sure, I was more looking forward to Red Hot's. The day started a little crazy, we woke up very early to prepare snacks to eat during the show and we left 10 a.m., but the gates of the City of Rock would only open at 2 p.m. When we got there, we sat on the floor waiting for the gates to open. But nothing saddened us, neither the uncomfortable position we were in, or the hot sun we were facing, or the cold sandwiches we took for lunch. What was cooler was the excitement of the people in the queue. We made many friends that day. I could see that everyone was super excited too. It was very funny, because the city of Rock is very big and has a lot to see, but we wanted to stay on the grid, so we had to stay there guarding our place, without going out to go to the bathroom, or whatever. But when the shows started, it was all worth it. First it was a Brazilian band called Capital Inicial, it was very good, it is a band that I really love so I sang all the songs with them, then came Nile Rodgers and Chic. Wow, this show was amazing, almost nobody knew who they were, but when they started singing, everyone started dancing. I never danced as much in my life as that show, then came Panic at the Disco, which was amazing too, I jumped and screamed a lot. And as headline came Red Hot Chili Peppers. I started to cry before they even went on stage. When they started singing everyone was crazy, especially me, because it was a dream to me to see those guys show live and I didn't believe I was there. I jumped a lot, cried and screamed a lot, so much that in the third song I was already almost without my voice. The day of the festival was spectacular, but the adventure didn´t stop there, we still had a few more days of travel, which we used to visit some other beaches and the Pão de Açúcar, another Brazilian natural beauty, that give you a magical view of the city and we had the lucky of see the sunset there. That trip was very special. I realized that I love music festivals with all that madness as much as I love travel and have new experiences.
