My first time out of my country (South Africa) . International seemed facinating and exciting. Yes, it was for church but at the same I was going into new territory and for mini site seeing/ vacation. Getting of the plane and being checked-in at the same time asked my reason for the visit was exciting on the other hand similar to what I have seen on television about their broader control. Manchester.....that is where I first set my foot in the United Kindom. I did not expect to find a world full of vintage. That is how I describe it to anyone who askes me "How does it look like?". My answer is always "Vintage". I know to many it is not like that but to my experience and my view it is a vintage looking country. So to those who always asks me what I mean when I say vintage? Here is your summarised answer.... It is a beautiful place which is clean at the same time looks old and classy. Which is able to attract different age groups and cultures. The walls reminds me of my grandmother's strength and the streets her facial lines which has many experiences and history. The people there are willing to assist when you ask for assistance i.e directions, time, etc. The currency, it is accepting to those from an economical growing country but at the same time limiting to those who are not financial stable or in short ' not rich'. Local transportation is easily accesible depending on your needs or distance of travel. E.g Taxis there are normally in similar colour which is either black, yellow or white. That can easily help you recognize them and will be able to hail one. The black cab usually inside is spacious and good for those traveling in a group. Yellow cabs are good for couples. Train's are facinating, they also run on time and your ticket matches your seat number depending on the type of ticket you have. What I did not expect was that you have to look for your seat number and remember it is a train so there will be coaches. Not forgetting buses they also run on time and the bus drivers are helpful if lost. Something that also surprised me was that berries was in a way the main fruit at the time. I even had my first cokeberry which was nice. For a person who likes their cheese it was a bit difficult to have goat cheese. But the food portions always had me going out of restaurants with doggy bags because I was not used to having that much food served to me in a restaurant. I loved my days in Vintage U.K. I am definitely planning another visit, hopefully now will see the famous London.
