I had always wanted to speak so many languages by the time I turned 35 so I could tour the world without facing difficulties of language barriers. I often feel inadequate when people around me speak in languages that I do not understand. Communication with such people was difficult and challenging because of the language disparity. A few years ago, my family and I visited Benin Republic where many of my relatives live. It was an amazing experience but I felt out of place not being fully proficient in the language. Now, I think about how different that trip would have been if I had been able to communicate better. Everyday activities like listening to music, watching a movie, going for a walk, or just getting a cup of coffee would have been effortless if I had known French. I was determined, thereafter to learn and speak as many languages as possible, whether local or foreign. Due to my profound love for learning new languages, my interest in traveling developed. I intend to be a courageous woman who utilizes her knowledge and her communication skills to reduce language disparity, ethnic injustice, and also bring people together. I believe learning the arts, language and culture of different people is not only handy for travelling, but will make me smarter, more decisive, and even more out-spoken. It would open new doors of opportunity for my political career in future. It will also ease communication and understanding of the arts, crafts, culture of the language, it will help increase integration and interaction globally, which will strengthen cultural links and understanding between Nigeria and various countries and promote and increase the interestt of the language too. Considering my passion for travelling and learning languages I was awarded a scholarship by the Indonesian government to learn about the culture of Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the most amazing countries in Asia and in the world in general, with more than 17000 Islands, vast cultural heritage, language and ethnic diversities, as well as world recognition in Arts and Craft by UNESCO. Indonesians are very friendly and accommodating people to foreigners, their patriotism, good food, and love for one another is mind-blowing. I was excited to meet people from different parts of the world, share cultural values and ideas. I had the opportunity of travelling to Bali, Karimunjawa, Jakarta Sulawesi, Flores with friends and people whom I met along my journey, and I can excitedly say I had the most magical travel experience ever! There are different traditions, religions and languages in Indonesia. A unique, ancient culture, breathtaking nature, extremely friendly and polite locals helped me fall in love with every city I visited. My relations with these cities went through the initial delight of newness, and through the rejection of differences later and then grew into true love. There are a mix of ancient Hindu temples with modern mosques, Sultan's palaces, preserved Javanese traditions, the theatre of shadows, batik, and diverse cuisines for every taste. A few miles from the cities you’d find beautiful mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls, tea plantations and the ocean. My most memorable moments were the visit to the Southern coast of Lombok, which is beautified with nature’s palm trees, green grasses, whispering birds that magnificently graces the sparkling turquoise colour beach, and being blessed by the lush and gush of Sendang Gile waterfalls. They were terrific sights to behold that kept me filed with awe of nature’s wonders.
