I have always loved to travel ever since I was in university. I just loved the thought of meeting new people, seeing new places and the adventures that comes with going to a new place. After I started working as an Educator in 2014 I managed to save enough money over the years that led to me being able to afford to go out of my country and continent for the first time ever. I was browsing through Facebook and I saw an ad on IgoTravels showing specials for Thailand. I was very excited and immediately texted my sister about it. It was just meant to be light banter amongst us but her enthusiasm and excitement got to me and I ended up asking for a quotation and within a week I'd gone to the bank and i paid the trip in full. We both couldn't believe that we were actually going to leave our township and just go straight to Thailand! It was an exciting moment for us all. We however didn't inform our parents knowing that they might just scare us into not going knowing their fears. When it was time to go I found out I was pregnant. That was in 2017 at the time. We only had a month to go and I was scared not knowing if I will be able to go but it was however too late to cancel the trip so I didn't. On July, we were driven to the airport and got on the plane to a foriegn continent and country all together. 😊 The level of happiness was out of this world. We traveled to Doha where we were to get a connecting flight to Phuket. The place was magnificent. The lights, the buildings, just perfect, unlike anything we have ever seen. The service there at the airport was to just out of this place. Never have we experienced that level of professionalism anywhere else. Everything was in place. We then got on a connecting flight to Phuket. When we got there, we felt we were in paradise. We took a scary leap into an unknown world and we were loving every moment of it. We got to the hotel jetlagged, hadn't bathed in 24 hours but we were excited. We called our mother to let her know we were safe only to find out we were also five hours ahead. That just got us mind blown. The next day we went about our day and booked various tours of islands and we met this lovely lady from Capetown on one of our island tours who said that we inspired her since we were just two young ladies traveling already. At the time my little sister was 18 and I was 24. She told us all about her travels, and her family which was lovely to meet someone from your own country in another country outside the continent Over the course of our stay we experienced all there was to experience, we saw the beautiful culture and monumental places there. Things were great until I started experiencing morning sickness. Then things started going south from there. We were in a country were we knew no one, no food that that we recognized and no one to turn to. As things escalated my boyfriend at the time Called our travel agent to inform her of my predicament. Lucky enough we were at the end of our stay so we were heading home. Through out the flight I was puking and I felt horrible. When I got to Doha, I couldn't do it anymore and I heard there was a mini hospital at the airport. We asked the security guy there and they escorted us in one of those tiny motor cars and I was given the best treatment ever. I felt better immediately. After that, I was taken by the same tiny motor car to my flight. Since I was sick I wasnt made to stand in line. Everything was done for me and I was very happy. We got on the flight home and I must say, I had the greatest of time there.
