Travelling back to herself

A leap into the unknown Thailand

This is the story of a 26 year old woman who got her heart broken on the 1st of January of 2019. After a failed marriage, she decided to pick up the pieces of her beautifully broken heart and buy a flight ticket to southeast Asia. Thailand seemed like the perfect destination for her new adventure and in February she landed in the chaotic yet charming city of Bangkok. The culture shock was real. The city was dirty, the air - unbreathable, English was not the main language and she struggled to find her way from the airport to the hotel. She eventually got to the room, sat down and cried. Not because of Bangkok - and the chaos around her, but because of the chaos inside her. She always had the dream to travel the world with the love of her life and there she was - inside an hotel room in the other side of the world but with tears in her eyes and all alone. Sometimes the universe brings you exactly the experience you asked for but doesn't allow you to bring company. Silly right? When it's all done and finished you end up realising that it happened for a reason. She eventually fell asleep and woke up the next day with a call from her parents. They were worried and wanted to know how everything was going so far. You know how this things work, even when your world is falling apart, you want your mom to think that you are the happiest girl in the world. So she shared her plans for the trip over the phone with them and the sparkle got back to her eyes, heart and soul. She had a purpose and she wasn't letting anyone or its lack to destroy her moment. Some things do not need to be explained, might be a word, a book, a hug or a conversation.. But for all great stories in your life, there is always a moment that switches everything. And you gotta trust the re-route. She spent almost a month around Thailand, reconnected to her spirituality in Bangkok. Made friends in the busy island of Koh Samui. Soaked the full moon energy in Koh Phangnan. Ate and lived with the locals in Krabi. Spammed her friends with insta stories when in Monkey Island. Drank way more coconut water than the human body can possibly process in Koh Phi Phi. And with every person she met, every dish she tried, every temple she got in to pray, every beach she explored.. She understood that maybe, just maybe - getting your heart broken isn't a bad thing. Maybe that's how it works. Maybe the heart of a traveller is like a puzzle and you need to spread the pieces around the places that you love. "and from all the roads she travelled, the journey back to herself was the most magnificent" The end :)
