Novel Corona-virus (2019-nCoV) outbreak at Hubei Province in China December last year has shaken the whole world. People fear this contiguous disease as it is spreading rapidly across the countries, due to this outbreak many business had shrunk all around the world and left most of the people jobless. Life is more important than taking risks to achieve the dream goal, but we are guided by certain formula to protect ourselves by avoiding to attend the public gatherings and if we happen to attend gatherings we are asked to wear masks and use alcohol sanitizers to protect ourselves from this disease. I have applied for short course about Swedish body massage at College of Integrative Medicine under Dhurakij Pandit University for two weeks. I have done everything like hotel booking, paying fees, purchasing flight tickets before the outbreak reached Thailand. When my travel date reached closer I was nervous and puzzled and I didn't know what to do when the number of infected was increasing and our government asked us not to travel outside unless we have urgency of work. I called my instructor regarding the case, whether or not the virus reached in the vicinity of the college or not, and I was informed not to worry since there were no cases of infected person around the college. When I got this information, I was relaxed and was confident to travel to Bangkok. On 9th February at 9:10 am, I entered Paro International Airport, with the less passenger travelling back to their respective destination and some Bhutanese passenger travelling to India for pilgrimage, because my flight was via Gaya and there was a 40 minutes halt there. I noticed only few passengers at the airport and even though Bhutan has only two airlines, we still see a lot of travelers. Due to Corona Virus outbreak the passengers travelling has dropped drastically and those who were present at the airport were seen wearing masks covering the nose and using alcohol sanitizer to protect themselves. I boarded the flight and the first thing I noticed was that there were only few passenger who was flying in plane and I was thinking of the impact it had on Airline and other industries and fell asleep till I reached Suvarnabhumi Airport. When I opened my eyes, it was dark and it was 6:20pm local time of Bangkok, I got out from plane and passed through immigration to get my visa. My instructor was waiting outside, as she came to pick me up from the Airport to drop me to my hotel. With the sweet smile, she welcomed me and dropped me off to my hotel. The college and the hotel was located in remote part of Thailand with less population and I was relieved since there is less chance to get infected with the corona-virus. 10th February, I went to college, wearing masks and started my class with few numbers of student. I felt lucky to attend the course with local student with local admission fees, and I was the only International student. It was a good opportunity for me to interact with new people as I got a chance to hear new ideas and gain more experience. My classes started at 9:00am and ended at 5:00pm. I was really happy to be around them as they took care of me and guided me throughout my classes till 14th February, before our field trips started. On 17th February, our field trip started from college to Orchideya Spa at Pattaya. The Spa is one of the most relaxing place to get treatment for our body. We met with the Owner and had a discussion about how his business was due to the recent outbreak of corona-virus. He told us that is business was not going well and he was also unable to pay salary to his staffs and could not pay the rental fees as well. After the discussion, we went to visit pattaya beach, which is one of tourist place and where they can make good earnings. People come there for vacations from all over the world but at that time, we could see only few people visiting there and same situation applied to the hotel owner too. The field trip ended and we learned a lot out of that trip and got good lessons and the whole journey was enjoyable because of the kind and loving friends I made and people all around were kind to deal with. my dream was very successful and I completed my journey back home with healthy and happy smile on my face.
