I didn't expect to find Pakistan

12 August 2014 Sitting beside a window on a local train that will take us to Rawalpindi, twin of the capital city of Pakistan. Along with my family, I was waiting for the moment when we reach our destination, it took more than 24 hours for us to reach there. That’s a lot of wait, right? But waiting for beautiful things is all worth it! Once we did reach, we found ourselves on an extremely busy railway-station, noises from the trains and crowds of people were all that welcomed us. After a few hours, we were in a hotel; relaxing, to compensate for an all-day-long exhausting train-time! Intending to explore the city, we went out without setting any specific destination. Buying some treats for tummies we moved forward, walking randomly on the streets. On returning to our room at the hotel, Mum discovered that the food we left covered on the table was less than the actual amount we left and just then she found a few mice running hurriedly inside a hole near the bathroom wall, that must be these naughty mice? Or some paranormal activity? Because the food was still covered just as how we had left it. Well, who knows? A day later, Covering Murree Hills in a taxi, we reached a point where there were hotels. Settling in a room which we booked for ourselves; we couldn't sit in when we were surrounded by an area so majestically beautiful! Setting up our stuff, we instantly headed out. Beautiful waterfalls, clouds surrounding us; suddenly, we were at peace! The peace that nature instills in you. Mountains have some weird attractive magic in them, we tended to spend our nights outside, in the mountains, despite having a room booked. Who can ignore the beauty, after all, and sleep? This was a trip, I never knew I would be living, if I were asked a weak earlier. A sudden unplanned trip turned out to be the best one I could ever have! My family was supposed to drop me off at the hostel I was about to live at since then, but then the sudden modification in the trip happened and that was a blessing that I still cherish in my memories! 2 days later, After Murree Hills, we were staying in Islamabad. Random street walks were still happening, observing and admiring the beauty with each step we took! A day later, At the gate of my college and hostel, I was saying bye to my family, this was it! I was supposed to be on my own for two years! Though not financially but in terms of routine. Leaving hostel after a year due to home-sickness; who knew, later, I would be calling it “The Golden Year” of my life? A lot of things happened in the year I spent at the hostel, in Islamabad, but let’s save that for another episode!
