A leap into the unknown India

Planning for a summer vacation in India can be a bit stressful, considering the crowd almost every hill station takes up during the time. And if you're a particular offbeat traveler like me, you have to dig even deeper! So there was I, drowned into the search of a hill station (and hoping it to fit under my budget!) and there I came across 'Vagamon' - a less known hill station hiding in Kerala. Without any second thought, I booked my tickets for it. The town welcomed me with its summer drizzle. Let me tell you the characteristics of Vagamon : hilly and green landscape, a few tea gardens, a harmony of insects and cloudy weather with thick mist. I could smell the mist, no kidding! This all contributes to a major benefit - fresh, unpolluted air. The best way to explore the town is by foot. Due to hilly landscape, almost every exploration equals a hike. Oh and the views ? Simply unforgettable. As I started hiking Moon Mala - a 30 minutes hike into the mist , nothing else mattered actually. The silence, the drizzle, the emerging mist was all I truly cared for. Reaching uphill was larger than life. Gigantic clouds had taken over the sky and below that a thick pillow of mist was created and even below that, mist was emerging through the valley. It's hard to say whether I was in heaven or on a cloud nine. To find a waterfall in summers in such a place especially when it's drizzling, would've been simpler, you might think. But in fact it was quite a hard game! After crossing over two hills I found Marmala Waterfalls. Climbing down towards the falls, I could see small streams and waterpools created by it. The color of earth could be seen through the water. The sound of the stream while the birds were humming was quite a musical. Surprising thing on the way ? A pineapple garden alongside the way. Talking about less crowded places, except pine valley. The only crowded place throughout the region with all typical touristy vibes. But here too, you can find your own spot, like I did. If you still feel too crowded and stuffy, just raise your head up in the sky into the tall pines. There you will find peace. This place has put a special impact on me. It made me look at things differently. Not did it only changed my perception ; but also helped me know myself better, connect to myself. Inspired me to start my very own travel venture. Anyone in search of a solitude, come here and let the place pour its silence into you to make you full. Let your soul take a trip too.
