Every tourist has an interesting travel story to share. The more a tourist explores, the greater the chance of experiencing something unique. Travel love stories are definitely the best ones! Here is mine. My mum and I, were totally restless and excited for the holiday to recline on our sun loungers and look out the ocean horizon off the coast of the Arabian Sea. Cherai, is the smallest town located in the north side of Vypin Island,a suburb of the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Kerala is known to have nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. Flaunted as one of the excellent beaches in the state, Cherai is a perfect blend of the sea and the backwaters. Popular by the name 'Princess of the Arabian Sea', it is a perfect destination for relaxation with a picturesque view of the sun rising from the backwaters i.e., the east and moon setting down into the Arabian Sea, connecting the elements: the sun, the moon and Earth. Dotted with seashells of several shapes and hues, this beach looks more beautiful with green groves and paddy field. Chinese fishing nets on the waterfront and thick coconut groves add charm to this place. I must say, swimming and sunbathing are popular activities that make it a tempting option for someone to get away from the clamor of city life. The backwaters are very close to the ocean and separated only by sandy stretch of land. The 15 km long beach is very unique as it is perfect for sun bathing, swimming, and surfing. On the beach, adventure enthusiasts can enjoy various water sports activities like water scooters, speed boats, snorkeling and canoe ride. If you are less interested in these water sports activities, you may choose to go for viewing dolphins frolicking in the sea. Bicycling through the villages is the best choice for exploring local life and scenic beauty of the place. Hiring a bike on rent at Cherai is also very reasonable. Getting a beautiful view of village life in Cherai is very refreshing and it gives a wonderful experience. Kite Flying is other very interesting activity to do in Cherai as locals are really very fond of it. This activity is so popular that there is an annual kite flying festival celebrated every year with great joy. Many foreign visitors come to the beach resorts at Cherai for long-term treatments for diseases, especially diseases like psoriasis and back pains. These treatments require massages and also other therapies such as internal cleansing procedures like emesis or purgation, as and when required, Ayurvedic oral medication, and many more procedures. Hence, Cherai tourism assures an awe-inspiring beach holiday experience by providing a peaceful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Kerala, the God's own country is nothing but pure beauty and l think I want to build a boat now, row it to the middle, lie down and watch the sky!
