A leap into the unknown India

Hi, My name is Vijay Upadhyay from Mumbai, India. I was working for a corporate company for more then 8 years when I decided to leave my job and follow my passion of traveling. Its pretty hard for someone from a middle class family, but I had a bit of savings with me and a good experience in Retail and Customer service. That's when i decided to take up a job in Goa, India. so that I can also manage my expenses and learn more about the travel culture. I moved to Goa in October, 2017 and started managing a Hostel named Rasta Mansion, It was a crazy experience of meeting people from different countries and following various cultures. I met a girl during that period with a similar mentality of making travel experience a voice and present it to the world, we connected emotionally as well and soon started liking each others company. One day we were discussing the possibilities of our future when she offered me to travel & work with her so that i can also manage my expenses and get to experience more of the world, In that situation my concern was to trust her or not and why. I had multiple reasons to say No due to Financial conditions at home and my own bank payments. After our conversation she went onto a road trip with one of her friends to South India and I got back to my routine of work. In that period I use to try to convince myself to say yes again because I knew I will never get a chance of traveling to other country again. She came back from her trip and we discussed the same thing again and she convinced me then. The journey begun on 4th Jan 2018 and the first country was Sri Lanka, I was unknown to the path the journey was leading me but i was following the call of traveling blindly. The first morning when i woke up in Sri Lanka was in front of Crystal Blue sea water and a beautiful sky above me. In that moment it all felt like this is what i was missing in my life. I started my work as Travel researcher and found out all of the best locations in Sri Lanka where we could go as we had one month to spend there. Everyday it was a new experience which is very rare for me, being brought up in a family with financial issues this was just a dream come true. I saw a blue whale, did snorkeling with turtles, hiked to one of the highest peaks in Sri Lanka. Suddenly one day she decided to take me to Maldives next on a 25 day trip and then we had further plans for Thailand, and so on. Everything was so perfect and everyday was a new beginning but during that, things were also getting messed up as money and work was involved in our relationship. We had further plans after Thailand but due to lots of arguement and confusions due to cultural differences we decided to part ways and Thailand would be our last destination. I have no Idea how to explain how I felt all along, whether it was a wise decision to take that trip or it was just another experience of life where i learned and lived my life to the fullest for those 3 months. Traveling gave me a new perspective towards life, It gave me a goal to achieve, It changed me as a person and now even if I don't get to travel atleast I can cherish those moments and live my life with no regrets.
