What a life

A leap into the unknown Indonesia

Twas an adventure of a lifetime. A leap into the unknown. A ten day tour full of ups and downs; exploring the enchanting, colourful areas of breathtaking Bali. Canggu, Ubud and Gili T all unique but magical in their own way. However, my pivotal moment was experienced on Mount Batur, at 3am watching the idyllic orange and yellow sunrise. I was spellbound not only from the difficult and rocky uphill trek, but from the unbelievable view that lay before me. The surrounding mountains were bathed in a textured and soft golden colour as it snipped at the edges of the sky, eliminating the glinting stars and replacing them with intoxicating embers of fiery sun. It was at this moment, I realised what life was about. It wasn’t about money or materialistic possessions, but about feeling content within yourself and forming treasured, valued relationships. We all put so much focus on the future that we forget to live in the right now. After having my injuries dressed by two kind German ladies and conversing with a lovely man from Jakarta in Spanish, my heart felt full and the haze that encased me for so many months was finally clearing. I am here, I am alive and I am ready for whatever will take hold of me next. What a view, what a moment, what a life.
