To start with I would like to say that I was born in the late 90’s in a small provincial town in Russia. If you live in Russia you know what “the 90’s” mean to our country. It was a very difficult time and most of Russian people lived in poverty. So no one even thought about traveling at that time. My hometown is named Cheboksary. It is lovely and unique in its own way but there are not many places to go out. So when you live in Cheboksary at the 90’s most of attractions you can see only on TV. When I was a child I watched TV really often. My favourite TV show was Disney Club. It was usually broadcast only on weekends at 8 am so I guess my parents hated it. What I liked most about that show was its intro. Even now when I hear music from the intro I feel a pleasant sense of nostalgia. Of course the best parts of it were moments with Disneyland. Everything there seemed so attractive to me. And so far away… Carousels, show, and mostly – the Sleeping Beauty’s castle (it was my favourite movie). My parents called me their little princess. And every princess goes to the Disneyland, you know. Since then it had become my biggest dream. Years passed. 90's were over. The period of crisis in the country was over. You could watch your favourite shows at any time. As it turned out, amusement parks in other cities in Russia were no worse than those that I had seen on TV. But I was still mummy’s little princess. Some things never change. The year 2012 came. I was 14 years old. Our family now got an opportunity to travel around Europe on a tourist bus. How would I describe that journey? Here in Russia we have a catch phrase “gallop across Europe” which means: doing something very quickly and cursory. We visited Belarus, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic in just a week! We went from the Czech Republic to France at night so we had to sleep on the bus. Most people associate Paris with romance and sophistication. It sounds quite ironic but I saw Notre Dame for the first time when I was completely sleepy. Also Mona Lisa must have been offended by my unwashed hair. On the same day we were informed that we would be able to choose where to go: to the castles of the Louvre or to Disneyland. I literally squeaked into my mother's ear. She smiled and said that the tickets had already been purchased. I could not sleep that night. I could not sit still all the way to Disneyland. We were on the subway and I wanted to get up and tell everyone in the car where I was going and why it was so important to me. Finally, when we entered Disneyland I could not believe my eyes. For so many years that place seemed something fictional to me and now the fairy tale came true. I was there, too. So nothing is impossible, and every princess will find her own castle.
