Oakland, California / U.S. – [November 24th, 2025] – World Nomads is proud to announce that it has been honored with two Gold Awards in the 2025 Magellan Awards presented by Travel Weekly. The awards recognize outstanding achievement across the travel industry and mark a milestone for World Nomads in the U.S. market.

"Each year, I think, 'This will be the year to remember' -- the year that creativity, innovation and inspiration in the entries of the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards has peaked,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly. “Yet this year – the 18th annual Travel Weekly Magellan Awards – has topped all that has come before."

World Nomads won the first Gold Award for ‘Travel Insurance - Overall Product’ after refreshing its U.S. plans in October 2024 (https://www.worldnomads.com/in-the-news/media-releases/new-travel-protection-plans-announced), offering enhanced benefits and new adaptable coverages. The award acknowledges the brand’s leadership in travel insurance innovation and customer-focused support.

“Our updated U.S. plans were designed to better support travelers with flexible options and greater benefits,” said Christina Tunnah, Head of the Americas for World Nomads. “Being recognized with a Magellan Gold Award reinforces that we’re on the right path, and that our focus on our travelers is resonating.”

The second Gold Award honored the End-of-Year Integrated Global Marketing Campaign, ‘Don’t Just Visit. Live It.’ (see YouTube ad here and also below) The 2024/25 sales campaign set a bold tone for immersive travel, emphasizing deeply experiencing destinations rather than just simply visiting them. The messaging blended in the core concept of purchasing travel insurance to protect these worldwide adventures. In some regions, a discount code was also offered. The award recognized the campaign’s creativity, cross-channel execution and alignment with the modern traveler mindset.

“This campaign was a celebration of meaningful, transformational travel which educated prospective customers about the importance of travel insurance,” Tunnah added. “We’re honored the judges saw the heart behind our message and the creativity behind its execution.”

The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing the best names and most accomplished leaders from the industry.
